Slieve Bearnagh (IMG0519)

Slieve Bearnagh

Hares Gap is considered by many to be the Gateway into the Mourne Mountains, after walking up the steady climb of Trassey Track and then the relatively short but steep ascent you meet the Mourne Wall with the well known timber stile over it. Hares Gap sits at the foot of the very impressive and very distinctive Slieve Bearnagh which you can see here. It stands at 739m above sea level. Its summit features very large granite tors and is considered my most hikers to be their favorite.
