Trassey Falls, Mournes

Surrounded by Slieve Bearnagh, Slieve Meelmore and Slievenaglogh in the Mountains of Mourne the Trassey Track is a beautiful walk. It is often known as the Gateway to the Mournes as the steady climb followed by a steep ascent takes you into the heart of the mountains at Hares' Gap. From there after crossing the stile in the Mourne Wall you can see the grandeur of such a mountain range. With views over to Slieve Commedagh and Donard in the east, the highest peak in Northern Ireland and Ben Crom reservoir to the south and onward to the impressive Slieve Binnian which flanks Silent Valley.
